The learning model that sets the ComFit Online Learning Center apart from other Web- or computer-based educational resources is rooted in the most recent findings of researchers in a wide range of education-related disciplines, including learning theory, cognitive psychology, instructional pedagogy, and the neuroscience of learning and memory.

the most valid predictor of academic success...is the degree to which learners become actively engaged and thoughtfully focused on learning-relevant tasks.
The prime objective of this model (patterned after widely practiced learning models in music and sports) is to make the learning process significantly more individualized, more active, and more student-centered than is generally the case in conventional learning environments—with the emphasis, in particular, on carefully structured learning paths, guided practice and prompt, knowledgeable feedback.

Our ultimate goal: to help schools and academic support organizations narrow the enormous gap that now exists between the amount of time that students spend each day in learning settings and the proportion of that time during which students are actively engaged in the learning process and successfully acquiring the knowledge and skills they need in order to realize their full potential as human beings.
